Fast Draft Day 9: Stretch

Today's goal was 5000 words. I wanted to get the draft to the mid-point today so that I could analyze the story events. A good story is balanced, and I feared that it was taking too long to get the motor running. Sadly, I was right. While the mid-point of the novel is exactly at 30,000 words in a planned 60,000 word draft, it did take too long for the story to start moving. Ugh. That means cutting events from the beginning or stripping down some of the scenes. I'll have better feel for the better path to take once the fast draft is finished.
