L is for Lycan, Lycanthrope
A lycan is a creature in mythology and folklore affected by lycanthropy, a condition that allows a human to transform into a supernatural animal, usually a werewolf. While transformed the lycan behaves and thinks primarily like a wild creature, except it has magical powers that make it stronger, swifter and more dangerous than its natural counterparts. In most legends this transformation is irresistible once a month on the night of the full moon.
