I am re-reading Box Office Poison for the Nth time. There's something about it -- please take this as a compliment, but some of the characters are such flawed people, it makes my skin crawl. The mediocre hell that is Sherman's life, Dorothy's doomed narc

I love answering numbered questions!

1) Probably. When it comes to forming romantic partnerships I can’t help but feel that people are either trying to recreate the dynamic of their childhood or going in the completely opposite direction. I’d was more aware of Dorothy’s alcoholism triggering Sherman’s caretaker gene (because of the guilt he feels about how he dealt with his sick mother) but his father’s narcissism would tie in nicely—she’s the perfect package! 

2) I’ve lived in New York City for 25 years, so yes.
