It's Been HOW Many Years???

I started writing my first novel, The Land Beyond the Portal, in 2003.

That was twelve years ago. I was fourteen years old.

My writing has changed a lot since the days I sat down with a ballpoint pen and notebook and began to write the story that wouldn't be seen by the reading public for another eight years. Just for fun, here are some pictures from that notebook. (Don't mind the terrible penmanship. Apparently it's a requirement for authors to have bad handwriting.)

Evan Morgan Ha! This is fantastic. I believe the notebook with my first story is somewhere in my room up in Michigan. I am going to have to look for it while I am up there this month so I can take some pictures as well. Thank you for sharing, Jennifer!

I had to dig through a few boxes before I found this. I used to write everything out longhand before typing it out but I turned away from doing that in order to save time and paper.

I hope you find your old notebook! I'm sure it will be fun looking at it again.

Evan Morgan I very rarely ever write using pen and paper. I usually only do so when I need to get an idea down.

And I hope so too! It's always nice to see how far you've come!
