New Year, New Books and Whimsy

By now, I’ve established that 2014 was a weird year. Like, hella weird. I went on a blogging hiatus that turned into almost quitting blogging entirely. I had weird shifts in some friendships, and in some relationships. I read 29 3/4 books, which is way less than I’d read in several years. I was sad to not blog as much…but I was happier, most of the time.

My headspace was really weird, and I got stuck there a little too much. It was sort of like the Swamp of Sadness in there, especially when I thought of blogging. I’d try to blog, or visit YOUR blogs, and it…just didn’t happen. I WANTED to be “back” so bad, but I couldn’t be. But after awhile, especially after taking some time off of everything to just chill, I realized there was one way I felt about this funk:

So, now that we’re in 2015 (thankyoubabyjesus), I’m going to TRY to start blogging again, reading more YA, and talking about books – here, there, everywhere. I’ll also be, slowly, making my way to blogs to start commenting again. I have a lot of goals this year, and one of them is to be more of an active participant in the YA community, because YA is my first love, the category I always, always come back to.

So here’s a tentative idea of what I’ll be posting about here at BAW:

Monday: Review (And these won’t be super serious ones, you guys) and MAYBE sometimes a film review
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday (when I feel like I will be adding something to the topic)
Wednesday: Discussion Post (Probably one or two a month)
Thursday: Review (If I’ve read enough, because I’m so chill with my reading rn)
Friday: Writerly type post (Every so often)

And that’s it, really. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel or come up with a bunch of new memes. I might do a book haul every so often, and I might do a new installment of some of my older features like Becoming A Better Blogger, or Warm Up Reviews (just an excuse to review a book in gifs), but this is it for now.

Love y’all, and looking forward to being “back” soon!

Have you ever taken a hiatus that went longer than planned? Have you struggled to get back into blogging? Did you guys miss me? – XOXO, Mol
