2015 and Beyond

Hi lovelies, hi! I hope everyone is having an amazing month so far.

Curious what I’ll be working on this year? Find out here! Click the anchors to jump to the corresponding part of the post. :)

As We Fall Together

I wouldn’t call my first book (As You Turn Away) the book of my heart, because that title goes to a book that exists only in my mind and scares the hell out of me, but AYTA was fairly close. It’s my first book, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Getting to write about Jonah and Quinn again, realizing their story wasn’t entirely finished, really has meant a great deal to me. I have a lot of thoughts for their novella, and am about to start writing like the wind to get this story in the hands of my readers this spring.

As You Breathe Again

I’ve tried to start Reece’s book twice now – once right after I finished AS You Turn Away, and once after I finished One Song Away. Both times, I realized I was a) rushing things and b) trying to write the wrong sort of book. Reece is a thoughtful guy with a huge heart, and even though I could have had *a* book written for him by now, it wouldn’t be the *right* book. Please, to my readers, understand I want to write Reece’s book and do it justice, because I adore him so much, and sinceriously hope you will, too.

With Reece, I can promise more Jamie (since y’all seemed to love him in AYTA), a heroine who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to grab ahold of it, small town shenanigans, an interracial couple, and more fun. Publication is tentatively set for summer 2015.

One Breath At a Time

If you’ve read One Song Away, you’ve met Sloane Delgado. Sloane is a runner, a kickass bestie to Sophie-Claire, and a lesbian. I’m tentatively planning to write and release Sloane’s book in the winter of 2015, because gay girls deserve HEAs, too. Sure, at some point, I’ll get to one of the sadder LGBTQ ideas that are rolling around in my head, but for right now, I want to write a girl/girl book that doesn’t end in tragedy, because that’s played out.

One Breath At a Time won’t be my first time writing a f/f romance, but it will be my first published one. I know who Sloane’s HEA is with, and I know most of the journey these women will go on together. I know there will be kissing and more, no fade to blacks, self-love, friendship, dancing, and growth.  I’ll start talking more about OBAAT when I’m closer to writing it, but please know that along with supporting diversity in books, I also plan on writing it.

Eyes On Your Own Paper

This is probably the best advice that I’ve ever seen. I adopted it late last year and have been trying to follow it in all aspects of my life: in my friendships, in my writing, in my relationships, in my online dealings. I spent WAY WAY too much time in 2014 in an unhealthy pattern of comparing my successes and failures to others, wondering what worked for them that didn’t for me, and just generally not liking some of my behaviors. I took December off of EVERYTHING basically, in order to reboot and change some things.

2015 is for embracing my positivity in all things. If y’all see me making an extra effort to tweet or FB positive quotes and pics, it’s for you AND for me.  I’m much happier already and hope to continue this pattern.  Less time checking sales ranking, more time talking about other people’s books and writing my own.

I hope you’ll continue to check out my books in 2015, and continue to email me (molliwrites @ gmail dot com) or tweet me (@MissMolliWrites) if you enjoy them (or even if you don’t, we can totally still be friends). Nothing warms my heart and makes me do a happy dance more than connecting with readers!
