QUINOA

Sadly, many of us have been conditioned to believe that we need large amounts of protein and that it should come from slabs of beef.  That simply isn’t true.  A plant based diet can give you all of the protein that your body needs.  One ingredient that can add texture and protein to your meals is quinoa.  Quinoa is a complete protein seed with 8 grams of protein per cooked cup.  It’s also a great source of iron, fiber, magnesium and phosphorus and a good source of manganese as well.


You can enjoy it in place of pasta, as a hot cereal, as a cold salad, or added to soup.  Use it in place of rice in stir fries or as a base for veggie stew.
