Originally from The Netherlands, Lauran started his life as a cyclist. After several years of competitive races, he moved to Australia (Sydney) to begin his career in acting and charity.

He worked as a campaign manager for Amnesty International and Unicef, raising millions of dollars for charity. Following a few years of philanthropic efforts, he moved to Hollywood.
