The art of slowing down
I just read this article in the NY Times and it articulated something about museum going and art appreciation that I strongly believe. I urge you to read it — then let me know what you think.

I used to take my 4/5th grade students to the Norton Simon Museum. We chose 4 paintings to study, and the children had about 15 minutes to absorb each. Parents said they were astounded by what their children knew and identified with when they went to museums later with them.
