Not dead
Nope, I'm not dead, even if this website sorta is. To be honest, it's been a rough year, and I haven't touched N7 in a long time. It's not that the book itself is the issue, but other aspects of my life. I will get back to it, probably over Christmas.
On a related note (stick with me, here!) I have started streaming my gaming, which is sorta fun. I don't offer commentary or anything like that, at least not yet. So, what has this to do with writing? I plan on streaming some of my writing. I'll post here in advance when I do, with a link to my twitch page. You don't need to sign in or anything, just go to the page and watch.
Granted, watching me write for a 6-8 hour session won't be thrilling, but the first hour or so might be, since that is when I most often write, re-write, and then re-re-write. So, if nothing else, you can see the process in action. After I get the first page or so down, I usually burn through the rest of the chapter fairly quickly.
I won't stream myself writing the entire book (though perhaps I'll do that some day for a short story), but selected chapters. It will be an interesting experiment. Harlan Ellison once set up shop in the store front window of a book store for a day, as a way to show people that writing was, in fact, a job that required real work. This is along the same lines.
