The analogy I use for blogging is the patchwork quilt. Community based quilting groups that come together regularly to stitch a part of their lives, in the form of odd scraps of cloth, into a warm and colourful comforter for any bed in the house.
During the course of designing and completing the project there is talking, laughter, gossip and advice passed on through generations. There might be slight disagreements over some of the individual pieces of the quilt but ultimately everybody works together until the final stitch. For the recipient of the finished quilt there is an obligation to care for it for a lifetime and then to pass onto someone else to love and cherish.
