I know it's only August...

Picture I know it’s only August but I’m a slow plotter! I’m starting to think about my Christmas cards and gifts which I usually make by hand. In fact I had a minor triumph at a well-known supermarket yesterday. I was looking for metallic pens and the same pack of three – bronze, silver and gold, like the Olympics – was marked on one shelf as £2 and on a separate fitment as £5. It wasn’t a case of something being put back in the wrong place. The shelf label bore the description, correctly in both cases.

‘Try your luck, Kath,’ I told myself and I asked for it to be scanned before I bought my other shopping. It came up as £5 even though it was taken from the £2 display. It was good value for the latter but I wouldn’t have bought it at the former price. Management had to be summoned! ‘We will honour the £2 price but we’re changing the display label,’ they told me. Too right you’ll honour it!

Where was I – preparations for Christmas? I get so annoyed when the shops do this! However, another thing I hope for Christmas is that my third publication will be available. This is a longer work and is (intended to be) funny. Mostly. So don’t forget. Post early… or something.
