Look at my skin, my limbs that are
aching from reaching out for you,
only to grab the air that feels even
thicker than loneliness. If you
touch me, you’ll feel the roughness
of my texture that’s showing you
that I’ve been too lonely for too long.
And the longer I cling to this idea
of your return, the longer I will live
with the feeling of regret on my skin.
