When you hear someone say that something is “in season” you probably get an image of a delicious red tomato, a juicy peach or some other fruit or vegetable that you KNOW tastes better at this time of year. (When do you ever hear that expression used to describe meat or carbs??)
We recommend visiting a local Farmer’s Market to get the freshest taste and the healthiest produce. Consider a CSA share and reduce your carbon footprint. It’s also a great way to include the quality of your food. You don’t always feel your best after a long trip, how good can your produce be after a cross country trip in the back of a truck. Buy local and get it from the vine to your table on the same day.
