Characters in Goliath

One of the most common questions that I have been asked since Goliath was published is "who are the characters based on?"

Although the novel is fiction, readers who know me will easily recognize some of my friends and family. Henry is really based on myself as I worked for a law firm many years ago when I lived in Alberta. The lawyers in the book are composite characters based on a few of the partners at the firm.

The two sons in the book reflect the personalities of my two sons in real life.

What about my wife, you ask? Well my wife is a very private person and would die (or more accurately, kill me) if I revealed anything too personal about her in my books. So I decided to solve that problem by making Henry a widower in the book. As a bonus, it also provided me with the opportunity to give Henry a really hot lover!!!
