Spectra’s Gambit and Scribd

So I have some news for everyone. First, the first draft of Spectra’s Gambit is done! For those of you new to the series (or just forgetful) my process looks something like this. First I write the rough draft and then I edit it.  This step takes months, but that part is almost done. When I am done editing, it will be a masterful piece of art with out any flaws but then I pass it to my wife. Somehow in that passing it will develop errors, which she will find and fix.

Once her edits are done, I then send the book out pre-readers. While they have it my wife will often do another editing pass. Eventually pre-readers get the book back to me with comments, suggestions, and the like. I then incorporate their feedback and send it off to our editor. Once she is done, I do one more pass and presto! It is done.

If you want to be a pre-reader, you need to sign up for my mailing list. That is the primary place I look for pre-readers. In the past pre-reader feedback, especially in The Sac’a’rith, has been extremely helpful. Heck, as an example, due to pre-reader feedback I completely rewrote the ending of The Sac’a’rith, several times.

One other note, you can now find all of my books on Scribd (http://www.scribd.com/). I do not know if they will be there forever or what, but I am trying them out for now. If you do not know, Scribd is a subscription based service for books much like Netflix is for movies. So for $9 a month you get unlimited access to their library. It sounds like a good idea, but we will have to see how it works out.
