Tourism KL: Adventure in 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo with Media Friends

Are you a big fan of Doraemon? Well, I’m not sure if you are, but I’m definitely a fan. Yep…yours truly is positively a fangirl.

I practically grew up with Doraemon and friends. I’m still keeping a collection of Doraemon comics, in fact and I still have the tendency to buy Doraemon comics whenever I see em at a newsstand. Anyway…I was invited to a FAM trip by Tourism KL last week with my Sahabat Media and celebrity friends. Iterinary includes a short visit to 100 Doeaemon Secret Gadgets Expo that’s being held in Viva Homes Cheras until this 23rd of March 2014 and the Putrajaya Sunset Cruise. Here is the entrance to the 100 Doraemon Secret Gadget Expo.

And so, we begin our journey by taking the time machine with Doraemon.

And went through the dimension door.

After stepping over to the other side of the dimensional door, we arrived at the fictional 21st century and witnessed the birth of Doraemon in the factory. Here is my celebrity friend Iqwal Hafiz, showing me the newly manufactured Doraemon. He.was wondering why Doraemon was in yellow and not blue.

Well, there is a story behind that. Doraemon was originally in yellow, but one day, his ears was bitten by a rat while he was sleeping, resulting to him not to have any ears. He cried and cries and his tears washes off the yellow paint. And so…we ended up having the iconic blue Doraemon that we’re all familiar with and comes to love so dearly.

There is lotsa live size Doraemon statue in this expo. Each and every one of it are holding a secret gadget.

There are plenty of gadgets on display, but one that I’m familar with is this; The Memory Bread. This bread is supposed to help you memorize things easily. All you need to do is just press the bread onto whatever information that you wanna memorize and voila! You’re all good to go. This bread is often featured in the comics where Nobita consumed the bread in order to assist him in exam.

Another iconic gadget that I recognized. The Reality Phonebooth. It’s often featured in Doraemon long stories. How to use this gadget: Make a phone call by using the phonebooth and the things you say will be a reality.

Here’s kiddo and Iqwal getting all hyped up and playing with a mock Doraemon Air Gun.

We then took a walk around the neighbourhood.

Feeling a tad tired, we took a rest at the playground and was transported to the future

When we arrived, Giant and Suneo was welcoming us for Nobita and Sizuka’s wedding. Yup…the duo ended up married after all in the future.

After attending their wedding, we made a wish at the Wood Sprite Spring for eternal happiness.

But was transported to the shop that’s selling merchandises instead.

I suppose our wish was misunderstood…but well…shopping is a form of happiness and the arcade…well…I suppose I can grudgingly agree that it kinda generate some sort of happiness.
