Philips has invented a new bulb that uses non-visible light (which is produced anyhow) to interact with your phone. Coupled with an app, it can tell you exactly where to get the ingredients you need, and make relevant suggestions.
Of course, privacy concerns abound. But getting past that (it's all opt-in), I'm intrigued by the possibilities of a new location-based service offering that finds a use for "wasted" light. Smart!
