Inventive Press is looking for "Truly inventive speculative fiction. Steampunk, both adult and young adult. Historical fiction. Contemporary young adult novels. Inspirational non-fiction." Also: "We love spec fic, but there are hundreds of micropresses and major publishers taking spec fic submissions. Yours has to be unique, or we can’t help you be more than another face in the giant crowd. We’re particularly interested in steampunk and alternate history. For spec fic in general, your synopsis needs to convey a sense of 'this is different.'" Length: Less than 130K (fiction); less than 80K (YA) and 40-150K nonfiction.
