WRITER'S WORKSHOP 2014
It was fantastic to work with students at the Writer's Workshop using The Dust Covered Days of Dorie Archer. We had lots of fun discovering our talents for writing and preparing for the State Writing Assessments. What a tremendous group of students! To bring this Writer's Workshop to your school please contact Barbara.
The workshop uses The Dust Covered Days of Dorie Archer as an anchor text and incorporates 6 Trait Writing elements along with a variety of activities that allow for the students' active participation. The workshop can be used at the 4th, 8th, and 11th grade levels to prepare students for state writing assessments and meets both Common Core Standards and Nebraska State Standards.
2014 I am so excited to begin 2014 with several opportunities to speak and share the unique story of Four Blue Stars in the Window. I also look forward to working with schools to use The Dust Covered Days of Dorie Archer and the curriculum. What an excellent opportunity to combine literacy and history in order to teach students through the experiences of a real family! I am so proud to offer the videos of my family as primary sources in order to meet Common Core Standards.
