I cannot WAIT to see some of my all-time favorite book scenes come to life. And being a rational adult, I understand that what I see on tv will most likely differ from what I pictured in my head when I read those scenes. But that's not a bad thing! It's going to be interesting and exciting to see the characters come to life. I mean, unless they swap out Sam Heughan for Danny DeVito, or decide to use sock puppets in lieu of actors, I don't see how this could go wrong. People who have nothing better to do than gripe about the casting need to get a life. It's a tv show, we're not dealing with nuclear weapons here.
Until I'm blessed enough to be able to see the TV version of your fabulous books and Sam Heughan as Jamie himself.... I am quite content to stay with my own personal vision of his glory! My own mental picture of him is a little like Liam Neeson as he looks in the film "Rob Roy" kilt a-swinging - only Jamie has different features and of course that gorgeous long red hair. Love all your books Diana and have them all read and re-read lots of times. I wish you every success and please write the next book soon!!!!!!
I am actually quite happy with all the casting choices, Ms. Diana! Very thrilled to see the book coming alive. I know "they" said 2014 for the Mini-series but do you know when in 2014? THAT's my biggest concern! hehehe...My congratulations on the Book becoming a mini-series- there really no other way.
I am happy to see Sam Heugan in the role and can't tell you how pleased I am that it's not Tom Cruise. Thank you for that, Diana.
Although Sam Heugan is a handsome choice, by the early descriptions of Jamie Frazer he should be at least 6'2 and very muscular with long red hair. Jamie is supposed to be larger and stronger than the average man. Sam does not fit the description. Unless he can put on about 50lbs of solid muscle before shooting begins... Then he'd be perfect!
