Return to Steinbeck Country
As part of our long-awaited Two American Road Trips tour, Ethan Casey (“Home Free”) and I are venturing into Steinbeck Country to promote our books. We’ll be at Old Capitol Books in Monterey at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and then at Oldtown Book Nook in Salinas at 4 p.m. Although Steinbeck scholar Susan Shillinglaw is appearing around the corner at the National Steinbeck Center at 6:45 Friday, we don’t plan to don Steinbeck masks and crash her talk. She’ll not be trashing my book “Dogging Steinbeck,” but she’ll be talking about her new biography of Steinbeck’s first wife.
