Review: Alaskan Ambush by J.J. Ellis

Review of Alaskan Ambush by J.J. Ellis

A mere week ago I reviewed Virgin Voyage by J.J. Ellis. It was wonderful! Now, for starters, here is one did read Virgin Voyage first, because I think novels should be read in the order they're written, I didn't need to. I could have thoroughly enjoyed Alaskan Ambush without ever knowing Virgin Voyage even existed. To me, that says a lot about a writer and their abilities. The two books do not rely on one another's plots, and instead focus around different couples entirely. I read another series like this once (not reviewed), and I just loved how the novels intertwined so lightly.

Ellis has certainly done it again with Alaskan Ambush. Another sweet tale, with a bit of tragedy in the mix, I wasn't able to put down Olivia and Alex's story. Goal and career driven Olivia pushed free spirited and under-achieving (by her standards) Alex as far away as she could years prior. But her ever-plotting mother just happens to arrange it so when they go on the family vacation cruise to Alaska Olivia ends up on a private plane tour. A private plane tour through a company now owned by Alex.
If you want to know if the change of Alex's lifestyle is enough to pull Olivia from her lavish life in the big city, you'll have to pick up your own copy of Alaskan Ambush.

JJ Ellis is first and foremost a mom to five kids, four girls and one boy, ranging in age from 2-17. After that, she is a physically limited wife, blogger and now an author. She holds a degree in Communication Studies (Public Relations) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas but never thought she would chose writing as a career, especially at the age of 42. She once wanted to be a publicist in the entertainment industry, but never a writer. Then one day when she was in her mid thirties she was going through what can only be described as an early 'midlife crisis' and ideas just started to come to her and she felt compelled to write them down. She finished her first book relatively quickly, but life got in the way and it took her eight years to revisit it and then publish her first novel.
