Slightly surprising Sunday reading

Owen Richardson's review of 'The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe' references slashfic. As in 'it's a bit like slash fiction, with pathos replacing sex'.

I'm fascinated that someone in the mainstream a) knows about slashfic and b) expects his audience to understand the reference.

Fascinated and frankly charmed.
