MY FAVORITE DISRUPTIVE HERO
My husband, Rael. “Sometimes we learn from people in the very things that they do differently than you do. My way of problem-solving usually involves analyzing the situation, and asking lots of people for advice. When it comes to thinking on my feet, I often struggle. Rael thinks a little bit about something and then act very quickly. He leads with action, and then adjusts. He’s a master of course correction. And this has changed how I approach my life.
“You probably know somebody like this in your life. Who doesn’t seem to be afraid to dip their toe in, or jump in with both feet, and try something — and not worrying too much about messing up or failing, and then learning from that. Having that modeled for me has changed I act as a parent, in my professional life…it’s changed everything.”
MY FAVORITE DISRUPTION
“Childbirth was the first experience that was so intensely physical, that conscious thinking had nothing to do with it. It was the first time I experienced something so massive and important without trying to think it through or control it with mind. That was a really powerful experience!”
