And the Character for Promises, Promises Companion Novel is…

First of all, I just want to say – I love my readers! The feedback I have received is phenomenal, incredible, heartwarming…I really could go on and on! Thank you!

Okay, let me backtrack just a little bit. I wrote Promises, Promises to sort of, well, get it out of my head. Really. I had this storyline and wanted to write it so badly – so I did. Then I set it aside and started outlining and writing three other books. I came back to Promises, Promises – changed it, updated it and then set it aside again. Finally, I felt Promises was strong enough to send out to a few people for their feedback. After a little more tweaking, I was thrilled to publish my first book on Amazon.

I continued to write my other books. One in particular, Biggest Mistake, has turned into two books since I am having so much fun writing it. The title may change, but I’ll give you a snippet soon.

Back to my reason for this post…

After the release of Promises, I went back to writing Biggest Mistake. In the meantime, through all sorts of social media, you – my fantastic readers – wrote to me, requesting a sequel or another book for one of the other characters. The thought had crossed my mind, but I never really intended to write a sequel or companion book for Promises.

The more requests and comments I received, the more I started thinking about each of the characters. I felt that Mel and Flynn’s story was told at the same time as Izzy and Z’s. Clark…oh Clark. I love him. What a fun creature! But I wasn’t sure how Clark’s story could be a standalone book. Lastly, Matt. He is such a strong guy with many facets to his character and he has an engaging story to tell.

Yes! I’m thrilled to announce that the companion novel to Promises, Promises will be Matt’s story. Please don’t worry…Clark will still have a role; actually, he’ll become Matt’s roommate! (Did I give away too much?)

I cannot wait to share Matt’s story with all of you and I hope you are as excited as I am. I don’t have a release date just yet, but I’ll keep you posted!

On a final note, I wanted to tell you what happened yesterday with my family. We were driving in the car and I told my husband that I’m really concerned about one of the characters from Matt’s book (Okay, twist my arm – her name is Kara.) My husband gave me a sideways glance, almost disgusted, and said, “You’re worried about a character from your BOOK?” In my most sincere and concerned voice, I replied, “Yes. I’m really not sure if she’s going to be okay after {this}.” From the backseat, my lovely six year old screams out, “Mom, your book is FICTION! They’re not real!”

One day she will understand. One day. Until then, I know all of you understand! *Sigh* Just wait until she escapes into a book and cries over a character. I can’t wait.
