Writers Block and Other Things

Hello

Sorry I haven’t been posting regularly. Unfortunately, REAL LIFE keeps intruding.

In my fantasy land I would do nothing but write and publish. But there are the harsh realities like PAYING bills and making the cash to do that. Which unfortunately, is not with my writing. At least not yet. Maybe never.

When I published my first e-book, I had this fantasy that people would find it and rave about it. But now, harsh reality has set in. That didn’t happen,

However, if you decide to rush out and buy a copy of each one of my books and post glowing 5 star reviews for each.one, I will be eternally grateful. And keep writing more.

New Theme

I changed my theme. The old one had washed out text on my screen and I got tired of looking at it and squinting. If there was any way to change the text color for the blog, I could not figure out how. Changing themes was pretty easy to do. Just one press of a button and it chugged for a few moments and presto! New theme.

Partial Writers Block….

It’s easy to write action scenes and sex scenes, but it takes work and thought and perseverance to grind through the interconnecting bits.

I’m reminded of one of my friends who was complaining about dating. The meeting and the wooing on the front end are necessary parts of the relationship, you cannot just start with jumping into bed. Hmmm. At least not in real life…. Hmmm…. at least not for free … Hmmm…. ok, there are hookup sites … Hmmm. … I meant for a real long-term relationship SIGH…. I think I’m getting off topic…

Still the interconnecting bits are necessary to the story.

I get stalled, partly because it’s no fun, and partly because I struggle with relevance, not wanting to bore my reader with too much or not enough detail.

I have about 10 stories that I have in that state. I am working my way through them one by one.

New Stories

I have another new story that is percolating its way through the Amazon Review Process called Miriam – Breaking Free. It’s a paranormal suspense/romance story.It’s based on an idea I had about harsh realities and what might happen to someone with really strong capabilities.

I published a new story on Amazon. It’s called the “Hotwife and the Happy Cuckold.” it’s available here.  I am considering making it Amazon only, but am not sure. I used the Amazon cover creator on it, so if I publish elsewhere, I’ll need to get a new cover made.

I wish Smashwords would toss together a cover creator for their site. I’ll bet it wouldn’t cost that much and would probably pay for itself in increased sales. The one at amazon only has about 10 basic covers. I’d love to be in charge of that one with a reasonable budget.

Passive Voice

When I write, I tend to use passive voice about half the time. Thanks to the grammar checker, (Dammit!) it is a struggle to rewrite things to make it happy. sometimes i just say stuff it and tell the danged thing to ignore that passage.

Spiffing Up My Site

I made a resolution to spend at least an hour a week on my site. Today is SPIFF UP MY SITE day.
