What Was I Thinking?
Okay. So, I decided that I wanted to do more work with video on my blog. However, I was having trouble with the video options offered by WordPress.com. I read that with WordPress.org there were many more plug-in options. In fact, I could ‘plug-in’ the videos from the company that I’ve been using for years (for most of my “video needs”). In the past I’ve had self-hosted WordPress websites and blogs and I got around just fine.
However, I never transferred a whole blog into another blog so I solicited the help of the WordPress.com people to assist me with the move. I felt good about that. All they had to do was get it over there and then I’d be good to go –I thought.
Well, it is up and running. I’m happy about that. However, there’s still some confusion about whether my followers are still going to be with me. I have your comments, but on the new blog, lost all my ‘likes’. Right now, I have two identical blogs. The old blog is youdontknowcrazybook.wordpress.com. The new wordpress.org site is youdontknowcrazy.com. Plus, I have a subdomain, bookblog, at my website wambui-bahati.com.
Now, I been through enough in my life to understand that this is all going to work out. However, I’m not sure how long that’s going to take. The WordPress people have been very kind and helpful. However, I’m beginning to think that they think that I’m smarter than I am. In this instance, I wouldn’t mind if they treat me like a five-year-old and hold my hand and take charge of everything — and just do it! I would not be offended.
So, I’ll be posting this on both blogs. The new blog, however, is at youdontknowcrazy.com Hopefully, the sites will be seamlessly accessible soon. I’m going to do whatever I have to do to hang on to all of you.
The good news is, I know that if this is my biggest frustration in life, I am blessed beyond compare.
