Not Feeling What I Need To Feel

Wambui walking on beach

“My friends say I’m crazy to let you go.”

Although I admire you, I can’t use you.

I don’t want to lead you on and confuse you.

Honesty is important to me,

That’s why I’m setting you free,

I’m just not feeling what I need to feel.

You are sensitive and you are handsome,

When you smile, you actually glow.

You are affectionate and intelligent,

My friends say I’m crazy to let you go.

Although I admire you, I can’t use you.

I don’t want to lead you on and confuse you.

Honesty is important to me,

That’s why I’m setting you free,

I’m just not feeling what I need to feel.

You caress my hand as we stroll through the park,

But darling, I don’t feel that romantic spark.

You invest your money well—and that’s a good thing.

But I can’t accept this precious engagement ring.

Although I admire you, I can’t use you.

I don’t want to lead you on and confuse you.

Honesty is important to me,

That’s why I’m setting you free,

I’m just not feeling what I need to feel.
