Bad and wicked weather hasn't helped

Preparing for Spring

Dear friends:
I guess I was rushing summer. At the first hint of Spring, I just wanted to go outdoors and stay there. For a while we had such activity going on. WE had the yard mowed for the first time this year.
I had a lovely rose bush which had been transplanted last year and so with this horribly wicked weather I was covering it up with a bit of plastic, and every morning it seemed the wind would knock part of it off.

I found myself getting more and more the inventor since I tried different methods to keep this from blowing off and exposing this beautiful fragile bush to the freezing temperatures this year.

Over and over I added things, boards, etc, to part of the plastic, and stones of various sizes at the bottom and after a while I am sure neighbors probably wondered if I was trying to build a temporary greenhouse because of all the lumber sprouting out all over it.

Nonetheless, I found myself defeated yet again and went out in quite a huff to see how on earth my weather tent blew off this time only to find a rather large and obvious stray cat (wild as any wild cat I have ever seen in the wilds) and it jumped out of what was left of the tent and made off up the street.

My husband and I have laughed at this contest of wills I had with the cat, and the rose bush survived my efforts and the cat taking up residence for a time beneath its branches.

Spring came, the cat went on down the street or somewhere to live, I haven't seen it back, and I hope it found a better home.

So now this rose bush has buds on it, and I have hopes of warm weather, and an end to this stormy weather we have been having.

Hope you are having a wonderful time during this hint of Spring and Summer!
