Off the Deep End

... Well, not really, but getting there. I'm pretty much going into bizarro-mode, and not just in writing.

Let's see, there's the Proust 2013 reading group. I've always wanted to read À la recherche du temps perdu, and this group is very helpful and engaging.

I've also discovered Zane Grey as an alternative to the standard shoot-'em-up westerns. Great writing, great personal stories...

And of course work continues on the follow-up to Following Yonder Star, and Voltaire's Adventures Before Candide.

My profile picture now accurately resents my frame of mind. Chasing phantoms with a flyswatter.

Martin Gibbs So Proust has so thoroughly pulled me into his world, that I scarcely have time for anything else. I get home, eat, maybe workout a little (since the snow is pretty much gone, and I don't want to bike yet), then tuck into ISOLT. Writing? Yes, I should be doing that. The Fourth King novella is nearly done save the polishing and fixing. I've started another Voltaire book, but...

Everyone, I highly recommend reading Proust. Join the GR group, it's not too late. Sleep later. Read now. Yes, sentences go on for twenty pages, but seriously, they are rivers, winding and seductive, and with their siren song and gentle current, they call you in, and there is no escape. It's wonderful.

Where's the Tylenol?
