The Attack…. part one. Preview from “SEDITIOUS” 4th novel “The Light-Bearer Series”
All of a sudden, the windows in the Grand Hall crashed in and three men jumped through in black suits. Charmeine knew the men were Blood-Hunters. Each man was big and brawny and knew exactly where to grab the Light-Bearers as to not to be electrocuted. She surmised this attack had to be tied in some way to the Elder Temple Guards using their arrival as some sort of distraction. She was very angry because of the children being caught up in this. They didn’t understand and poor Athena was screaming to high Heaven terrified to the core.“What do you want?” Charmeine yelled.
None of the Blood-Hunters said anything.
Athena was still screaming, and Charmeine yelled, “Athena, just do as they say! Everything will be okay.”
Percival threw a look at Athena and assured, “All will be well Athena, believe me!” She stopped screaming, but tears were rolling down her face. She winced from the painful Blood-Hunter grip.

Charmeine smelled a sickening sweet musk perfume and sensed another Blood-Hunter. Across the room, she saw a striking, dark and beautiful young woman walking in the Grand Hall. The Blood-Hunter woman had a tight bodice black dress coat on with a plunging neckline which accented her voluptuous figure and long slender neck. Her hair was raven black which hung down her back and her skin was pale pink. The Blood-Hunter woman’s lips were painted like rubies and were full and pouty. She was very slim but athletic looking. The woman’s eyes were outlined in thick black mascara and her pupils were the color of deep indigo. In fact, her eyes were an almost hypnotizing blue because they were so deep.
Charmeine couldn’t keep from dropping her jaw because the Blood-Hunter woman was so striking it took her breath away.
Percival, on the other hand, had a totally different reaction. He was breathing harder also but Charmeine didn’t think it was from the danger. She knew it was from the woman Blood-Hunter and her raw female magnetism. His eyes opened wide to rake every bit of her sexuality in.Charmeine rolled her eyes in disgust.
“Ah… Yes, very good gentlemen. We have her now.” The mysterious woman Blood-Hunter told the men in a thick accent. She gazed at the Blood-Hunters handiwork. Then she smiled with wide hypnotic eyes at Charmeine like a cat getting ready to pounce on her prey. She could tell the woman was a very powerful Blood-Hunter.
The Blood-Hunter who had Charmeine was pushing and shoving, trying to get her to go out the terrace doors leading to the Formal Rose Garden. She was struggling to gain some kind of fighting advantage.
Charmeine and the other Light-Bearers had been practicing their self-defense skills with Sandra. The Light-Bearers were working on how to get out these hand binding holds. After Charmeine’s encounters with Pascal, she never wanted to feel helpless again. With speed and accuracy, she used her power to fly up going backwards over the head of the Blood-Hunter restraining her. She was able breakout of his hold on her hands. Immediately, she leveled him with a powerful and fierce bolt of white electricity which stunned him in a stupor.
Percival took this opportunity of a distraction to sweep the legs of the Blood-Hunter who was holding him. Managing to get free, he stunned his assailant making him fall down in pain with a green charge running up and down his body.
Charmeine yelled to Percival, “Use your light for Athena!” He threw a green lightning bolt at the Blood-Hunter holding Athena. Within a second, he was on the ground with a green current running through his body.
“So you think you can just come into my home and push us around?” Charmeine asked the man who attacked her, and shocked him.
“Halt!” the Blood-Hunter woman demanded. She looked up and the Blood-Hunter woman was holding a hand gun pointing at her belly.
Dripping with raw sensuality, Percival was breathing hard again from her close presence.
The Blood-Hunter woman widened her deep indigo eyes on Charmeine and uttered in a sultry voice, “I will shoot you if I have to.” She smiled with a wicked expression and speculated, “However, you really never know where the bullet will go?” She laughed, and her maniacal giggles curdled Charmeine’s blood.
She could tell by looking into her deep indigo eyes she was telling the truth.
The Blood-Hunter woman started to circle her and taunted, “My, my, my… The bullet could just land somewhere very unhealthy for your unborn spawn.” She walked like a cat on a prowl around Charmeine. “Not that hurting spawn of this Light-Bearer scum would matter,” she quipped in a matter of fact way.
Charmeine began to feel waves of nausea and fought the urge to throw up.
With a sinister laugh the Blood-Hunter woman scoffed, “It is just a by-product we can simply do away with.” She laughed loudly, “Yes, it is just a by-product which should be tossed aside and thrown away like the trash it is!” The Blood-Hunter woman stuck the gun in Charmeine’s belly ready to pull the trigger.
“By-product? You called my baby a by-product?” Charmeine asked incredulously. The woman smiled with wild eyes and burst out laughing, “Yes, an insignificant by-product! We will throw away as soon as we cut it out of you!” and she began laughing with a vicious and maniacal tone.
Charmeine knew the Blood-Hunter woman wanted her and would think nothing of killing Baby Hunter. Right away she acquiesced and held her hands over her stomach pleading, “No please! I will do anything you want, just do not hurt my baby! Please!”
