I'm with you. As i understand it, the Kindle Fire is for movie watching and internet use as well as reading. I see no reason to spend that kind of money for something I already have. To me, a Kindle, or any other ereader, is just that, a reader.

It'd be cool to play around with it with all the whistles and bells. I wonder if they'll come down any in price. Thanks, Randy.

I don't know...I love my Kindle Fire. Besides having the portable library, I have a notebook app for those moments when the muses call, Pandora, my own music a couple of time-killer games for the inevitable waiting room, weather apps (big for me as a commuter). Plus laptop connectivity in the palm of my hand. I'm not going to get the HD version, but I'm not giving up my Fire, either.

Right, my wife was pointing out to me the Fire is more than just an e-reader. If I had one, I'd use it until it broke and then go with the HD. Thanks, Phillip.
well, I got gift certificates to amazon from both my son and in laws. used them to get the kindle fire 7" tablet which I love because there is no limit to the number of books carried on the cloud. all the books on my first kindle are carried on the fire providing I keep it registered. I joined their "prime" club and get lots of free streaming movie/videos, I can access facebook too. I love it.

I like hearing you port your books from your old Kindle to the new one. Plus streaming movies is a great feature.
