The Next Big Thing!

I've been blog tagged! Lynn Willis invited me to participate
in The Next Big Thing.

The answers below pertain to my recently
released novel, Jewels for the Kingdom
(Pelican Book Group, October 2012).

What is the working
title of your book?

Jewels for the Kingdom
was, is and…hopefully…ever shall be the title of this novella.

Where did the idea
come from for the book?

I saw a piece of jewelry online—just browsing, and happened
onto The Master’s Jewels, and
fell in love. After a few subsequent conversations with the website owner, Christy
Borelli, I was fascinated by this sweet woman - and by and what she does for a living. So I had
a basic idea for a heroine, and the story just kind of built around it. As
always, I simply dictate what God writes, and, in this case, Jewels for the Kingdom was the result.

What genre does your
book fall under?

Inspirational romance

Which actors would
you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Oh, how I’d love to have to actually make that decision. Let’s
see…Pia Peretti could be played by Nikki Reed (Rosalie, The Twilight Saga), if she gave up the blonde hair. (LOL – Would’ja
look at me, changing my celebrity’s looks, and everything!) Mila Kunis (That 70s Show) could totally pull it
off, as well. And for David Myers, my hero of the dual-colored eyes—hmmm. Well,
Wentworth Miller (Prison Break)
already has the eyes for it—one blue, one green. But he doesn’t really have the
look of David Myers. That would be
more like Ian Somerhalder with the aid of one green contact. Although, I gotta
admit, the idea of messing with that kind of perfection in any way makes me
shudder! :D

What is the
one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Well, my tagline is actually two sentences:

Her past isn't pretty, but it can't be
changed. Will it destroy any possibility of a future with the man she loves?

Will your book be
self-published or represented by an agency?

White Rose Publishing (a division of Pelican Book Group)
released Jewels for the Kingdom on
October 12th.

How long did it take
you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

About 3-4 months, I think. I hadn’t really stopped to think
about it. Marianne? Mary? Tanya? Feel free to hop in any time. LOL

What other books
would you compare this story to within your genre?

Unfortunately, I’ve been so busy writing that I’ve done far
too little reading in the past year or so. The only books I can think of are
the other three Heart’s Haven books—and they haven’t released yet! LOL

Who or What inspired
you to write this book?

Well, aside from The Master’s Jewels and Christy Borelli,
which I already mentioned, I can only say GOD. He is the ultimate author, and
the inspiration for everything I write.

What else about your
book might pique the reader’s interest?

A ridiculously handsome hero with one blue eye and one green
one? Conversations with angels? Shameful secrets and unbearable heartbreak? A cottage rental complex that seems to be a gateway to romance?

A series that promises to keep on keepin' on?

Shall I go on…? :D

I hope you've enjoyed your visit to Living the Write Life - and, of course I hope you'll come again!
