Part Three: Break Me.
So, this one has taken me a while to wrap up. Things have taken a darker turn than I expected and I had to sit with it all for a while and reconcile it. I also knew that I had to take James and Sadi out of their safe little bubble and start introducing new characters into the story. It just took a bit to configure them all in but I think the wait will be worth it. I also think that taking the time to give readers big, meaty (yes, I said it) chunks of the story is better than a twenty page installment at at $2.99 a pop. I'm shooting for over 80 pages (or 20,000 words which ever comes first) an installment.
So, because you've all be so patient and awesome here's a hefty expert to keep you going until Saturday! Happy reading!
At His HandsPart ThreeBreak Me
“What did she say to you?” Conner set his grey eyes on me.“I don’t remember. There was a lot of noise and people. Everything was confusing,” I stammered “Why is it so important?”“It looks like you might have picked the wrong girl.” He turned to James and laughed. “This one doesn’t seem to possess powers of observation you hoped she did.”“Throw her back in the pond or hand her over to me for some intensive training,” Roman sighed “those seem to be the only viable choices.Conner might be able to broker you a better deal. I know a trainer that is about to move a one of a kind piece. She’s from Manila. An exquisite submissive with a photographic memory. Little slip of a thing, not exactly the look you go for but I think she’ll suit your needs in this instance.” My head snapped around to get a better look at him. Roman was handsome. Probably as good looking at James but he had a predatory, hungry look to him that made my stomach twist into a knot. “How am I supposed to know what I’m looking for if no one tells me anything?” I pushed back into my seat and looked out the window. He frightened me. Roman and Conner and all the rest of those people that gathered together to watch other humans get bought and sold. I needed to stop thinking. Thinking was only going to have me reach the inevitable conclusion that I probably feared James just as much as I did the rest of them.Probably more now that he’d sunk his hooks into every corner of my life. “There wasn’t anything else,” I muttered “she mostly asked details about my situation.”“And what did you tell her?” James reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out a long rectangular piece of fabric. “Nothing,” I stammered as he smoothed the fabric over his legs and stared at me. “Nothing?” He asked with a shake of his head. “Are you sure that’s the answer you want to give to me?”I watched his hands as he picked the fabric up and held it. “It’s the only answer I have Sir.”“Take your hair down.” James commanded.I looked at the two other men in the limo and wondered if they had any idea what was going to happen next because I certainly didn’t. James and I hadn’t set many limits and there was never a discussion about having other people…fuck, I thought as I obediently pulled the three bobby pins out of my hair and gave it a shake. He wasn’t going to let one of them touch me?“Sir?” I whispered as he hands reached out, the fabric he held quickly going around my face until all the light from the car was shut off. He’d blindfolded me. More panic started to set in and I reached to pull the blindfold away. I had one finger twisted around the side when I felt James’s strong hands pulling my away. I tried to make sense of what was happening but he moved too fast for me and within seconds the wrist restraints that I thought were only for decoration were bound together behind my back. “Why?” I let a shaky breath out and tried to calm myself down but something was tugging at my neck. The collar, I thought as my ears registered the sound of a metal clip followed by another firm tug at my neck. James was feeding something through the loop on the collar and I heard the distinct sound of second clip closing“Pleas, Sir” I stammered and tried pulling away from him only to be firmly set back in place with one good tug. “Why?”“If you don’t like it you could always use your safe word.” He voice was low, close to me ear and dangerous. “Go on,” he prompted and gave me another hard tug “use the word.”“No,” I whispered before righting myself in the seat. James yanked on my collar again, I found myself pulled to the very edge of the seat. One more small tug and I would be sitting on the floor. I thought about resisting but knew it would only make the situation worse. “Are you ready to use your safeword now?” James asked again.I shook my head “You do know that I’m not taking you back to the apartment,” he told me before giving the final tug that had me on my knees. I scrambled around trying to find my balance but the hold James had on my collar made it difficult. “What are you doing?”I felt his hand on the back of my head, for a moment I thought he was about to pull me toward him but all he was doing was holding me steady. “I am teaching you how to focus.”“I’m trying Sir.” I leaned my head into his hand and hoped to god he wasn’t going to strip me down in front of the two other men in the room. “I am. I swear I’m trying.”“No you’re not.” His fingers curled deep into my hair and that old familiar sensation was back. “You’re acting like a brat and I don’t have the time or patience to tolerate brats. This isn’t a fun little game I’m playing with you. You talked with someone very important, someone that has information I need. Piper didn’t seek you out because she was feeling friendly, she had a message and now it’s time we decoded it.”I felt the car come to a slow stop and then turn on an incline. It was the sensation of descending that made me panic. “Why?” I whispered again, my voice reedy and thin. “You don’t have to do this. I can remember.”“It’s not about remembering it’s about learning to focus.”“Sir?” I tried to lean forward and rest my throbbing head on his knee but he held tight, pulling me back by my hair.“It’s a lesson you’re going to have to learn.”The car came to a full stop, I heard the shuffling of bodies moving around the interior of the car and the metallic whine of a car door being swung open. Conner and Roman were getting out. Fuck,my brain raced, they were going to be there. James was going to let them watch.“Please,” I tried to squirm away “I’ll be good. I promise. Please Sir. Oh, god please don’t do this.”James tightened his grip on my hair, I could feel his warm breath against my ear and the touch of his lips as they grazed my cheek. “You should be thanking me that I’m not letting Roman do this. You should be thanking me not fighting me.”
