Charmeine slowly opened her eyes.
She turned her head and saw Tabbruis standing at the patio doors facing the sun with his head down, feet spread apart and arms crossed on his chest.
His beautiful multi-colored chestnut hair was blowing in the wind.  He looked like a three-dimensional Greek God come to life, and she warmed with contentment.
She said softly still thinking she was dreaming, “Tabbruis, you are so magnificent, I can’t believe you are real.”
Immediately, Tabbruis turned and stared into her eyes with so much love she thought her heart would burst.  He ran falling to his knees by the bed and leaned down whispering in her ear, “My love, my light, my wife, you have come back to me!  Thank you God!”
Finally waking up, Charmeine opened her eyes and reality sank in.  She asked, “Where?”
Tabbruis said immediately and calmly, “You are safe now.  We are safe.  We are in Romania now.”
She looked at Tabbruis and his green eyes were pale.  He had heavy black circles of unrest and hunger under his eyes.  His pallor was almost lifeless… a grayish hue, and a worry-line looked nearly permanent in-between his eyes.
She asked, “Oh Tabbruis are you okay?  Did you get hurt in the battle?  You look so haggard.  Oh my God, please tell me you are okay!”
Tabbruis twisted his lips and compressed them together in a straight line.  He gently said, “No Charmeine, I was not hurt.  Do not worry about me, how are you?”
“I could care less about me,” she answered.   “Is everyone okay, including you?” she asked with wide eyes.
“Please you must rest,” he replied.
“Help me sit up Tabbruis,” she said with a wince from the pain and stiffness in her bones.
“My love rest,” he said.
She said with a defiant tone, “Tabbruis help me or you know I will do it myself.”
He acquiesced and gently helped her up.  He put his hands on hers to sit her against the headboard.
Charmeine’s hands did not spark!  He noticed it, and looked at her hands!  His heart fell into Hell!
Tabbruis thought he was a fool to think she would ever forgive him after his failure at the Acropolis.  His lack of faith in her intuition and judgment.  He achingly thought, ‘I have lost her,’ and he hung his head in despair.
“Do not lie, look me in the eye, and tell me if the family is okay,” she said.
Looking in her eye with his tired and strained gaze, Tabbruis said, “Sandra… our daughter, is dead…”
There was a deafening silence in the room.
Tabbruis lowered his head and sighed….
Charmeine could not believe it.  She finally squeaked out over choked tears, “No… no…” but her memory came back and saw Sandra’s head dangling in Pascal’s depraved hands.  Charmeine’s strangled voice asked, “Our son lost his love?  We… lost our daughter, Sandra?”
“Yes, he has and we have also,” he answered with tears in his eyes.
Tabbruis said with worry and apprehension, “Shane could not go to Sandra’s burial.  The last time our son cried was on the night of the attack.”
She said with open and wide eyes, “Tabbruis, I must talk to him.  He has to believe in his love.  We have to believe everything will be alright.”
Tabbruis’ face was questioning her and said, “Charmeine, I know you have a faith that can move mountains, but you cannot seriously tell him everything will be okay.  He just lost the love of his life.  He will never be the same again.  The hurt is too deep.”
“I know this sounds crazy.  But I have faith in God,” she said.
He hung his head shaking it.
“Tabbruis, I know you are a Blood-Hunter and we are opposites; however, have you learned nothing since you met me?  When will you have faith in God and in me?  What will it take Tabbruis?” she asked with irritation.  In frustration, she took a deep breath and rolled her eyes.
Tabbruis looked at her and reached up to hold her face.  Like a tidal wave, it hit him, she was right.  He said softly, “Charmeine…”
She just blinked, cut him off and asked, “Why did I expect you to finally…?”   She slowly took his hand away shaking her head.  She  looked in his eyes and said confidently, “I would like to see everyone, the whole family.  Please do not question me.  I have had a vision, and I need to tell the family.”
Tabbruis did not bat an eyelash and said, “I will return shortly.”

Faith is having complete confidence in someone or something.
The best way to secure it is to give it.
Be at peace today!
I have loved this song and yes…
I admit I crushed on him when he first appeared on the music scene… no judgment please!
His songs still put an “Oh my…” in my throat!
