I signed with LazyDay Publishing!
Wonderful news! I recently signed a contract with LazyDay Publishing for my erotic romance novella Rules of War . I couldn't be more thrilled, especially since LazyDay has published some of my favorite authors like Alta Hensley and Jade Cary. Being in their company is a fantastic feeling:)
Rules of War is a spanking romance with a touch of bdsm that takes place in a war-torn United States after the Americans and their enemies, the Free Islanders, come to a stalemate. The Free Islanders are the descendants of rich Americans who live on a chain of twelve manmade islands in the Atlantic, so as the story begins the US is in chaos. My heroine, an American named Emma, is rescued from a collapsed building, by the hero, a Free Island soldier named John. Okay, enough set up:) Here's an excerpt:
The first thing Emma noticed, besides the fact that she couldn’t open her eyes, was the steady movement and hum of an automobile beneath her back. A moan escaped her throat and a sharp pain shot through her head when she rolled to the side.
“Easy,” a deep voice said.
Ignoring the pain, she forced her eyes open and tried to focus on the blurred face hovering above. Her mouth felt dry and her chest burned like wildfire with each breath. Vaguely, she recalled the explosions and smoke and struggling on the stairwell. By some miracle she’d survived. She had the distinct impression the man with the deep voice was responsible for her rescue. Hope surged through her aching limbs. Maybe he was an American soldier and the government hadn’t fallen completely.
“Breathing is going to hurt for a while, but you’ll live, princess.” The voice rumbled through her center and gave her a sense of security. “Don’t try to speak yet.”
“W – Water,” she gasped out, disregarding his order. Her vision came into focus at that moment and met with stormy blue eyes. Cold terror skated down her spine when she noticed his green Free Island uniform. No!
She’d fallen into enemy hands.
Rules of War will be released in January 2013.
