“Nothing Special”from “MACTUS” the 2nd Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” and FREE GIVEAWAY of “Charmeine”

Charmeine turned and as if a lure was pulling her out the doors leading to the Formal Rose Garden.  Even though she saw it yesterday when they were married, she audibly gasped and said, “Oh my!”  Charmeine could see today how excellently groomed and trimmed all the roses were.  It was beautiful.  She could see all sorts of roses of different color combinations.  There were even climbing roses growing up the wall on both sides of the door.  She went over to a big full rose and smelled it.  Charmeine felt instantly relaxed.

There were a couple chairs with a table in-between them.  It had a vase full of cut roses in it with different colors.  Charmeine said out loud to herself, “Dmitri is an excellent host.  God everything in his castle is perfect!”
Smiling and content, she sat in a chair and turned her face to Heaven smelling the wonderful scent.
Tabbruis came through the door with a smile on his face and he had two glasses on a tray, one large tall glass and another short glass.  Charmeine said to him, “How does Dmitri do it?  His castle is managed so efficiently.  Everything is perfect.  He must be a wonderful administrator, so much detail to take care of running a place like this.”
Tabbruis smiled with his brow up looking at her.
She said, “What’s that smile for?”
Tabbruis said, “Nothing, I have your drink.”  Tabbruis gave the tall glass to her and she tasted it.  It was a Coke and Charmeine smiled big and drank a huge gulp.
Charmeine said, “I do love Coke, I can’t believe you have it here in Romania.”
Tabbruis said, “That drink is all over the world.”  He sat and put the tray down.  He took a swig of his drink.
Charmeine offered her glass for cheers, and he did so.  They both chuckled.
Tabbruis said, “I knew you would like this.  I know you love roses.”

Charmeine softly moaned and laid her head back, “Oh yes, this is just Heaven.”
Tabbruis smiled and said, “You think everything is ‘Heaven’.”
Charmeine giggled and said, “Oh Tabbruis, don’t you know if something is wonderful to you, it must be a part of ‘your’ Heaven.  For example, I love the beach.  In my Heaven, the beach is there.”
Tabbruis said inquisitively, “What else would you have in ‘your’ Heaven?”
Charmeine said, “You, my family, the ocean, this castle, the private beach, Tristan and Isolde, this Formal Rose Garden, and oh, yes, that lovely and beautiful Bösendorfer Grand Piano.  Oh I could play that instrument for hours.”
Tabbruis said, “Oh really?”

She winked at him and said, “Oh yes, just play for hours and hours.”  Charmeine took another big swig and put her head up and turned to him and said, “Thank you Tabbruis for my drink, but then for so much more.  You spoil me too much.  I don’t require luxury or pampering.  On Long Island, I was a very boring and very plain woman.”
Tabbruis laughed shaking his head, “You have no idea how opposite of that you are.”  His green eyes bore into Charmeine’s, and she smiled with embarrassment.  Then she drank all of her Coke down and ice clinked in the glass when she put it on the table beside her.
Charmeine said with a pensive face, “You don’t know how wrong you are Tabbruis.  I felt like the indecisive, red-headed stepchild of Long Island, New York.”
Tabbruis’ eyebrows went up and he said with a chuckle, “What?  Indecisive…”
Charmeine said interrupting him, “I was never accepted, except for Shane.  If I hadn’t met you, all my life would have been dust in the wind.  I am not special.  It is your love that makes me special Tabbruis; don’t you know that by now?”  Charmeine sighed and said, “The point of all this is to say, please don’t spoil me.  Leave the spoiling for someone who deserves it.”
Tabbruis went to her chair and put his hands on the armrests.  He bent down looking her in the eyes and said, “My God Charmeine, you really do not know how exceptional and perfect you are?  Always shying away from the spotlight but you fight like a bear protecting her cubs when her family is threatened, vicious and lethal.”  He kissed her like she was a delicate flower.

Today, hug a loved one, listen to your favorite song,
and RELAX into your Heaven…
This song has been one of my favorites for years.
Back in my traveling band and singing gig days…
I sang this for an outdoor wedding!
It was pouring rain, but so in love was the couple…
they never once noticed it!
