AND…I also received FOUR Advance Readers Copies of One Good Earl Deserves a Lover! WHAT?!

Best. Day. Ever.

Look! A photo!

So pretty!!

I have gushed and gushed over this cover for MONTHS and then, finally, last week, all over the Internet. But today…I get to share the cover copy (and plot) with you for the first time!

Lady Philippa Marbury is…odd.

The brilliant, bespectacled daughter of a double marquess cares more for books than balls, for science than the season, and for laboratories than love. She’s looking forward to marrying her simple fiancé and living out her days quietly with her dogs and her scientific experiments. But before that, Pippa has two weeks to experience all the rest–fourteen days to research the exciting parts of life. It’s not much time, and to do it right she needs a guide familiar with London’s darker corners.

She needs…a Scoundrel.

She needs Cross, the clever, controlled partner in London’s most exclusive gaming hell, with a carefully crafted reputation for wickedness. But reputations often hide the darkest secrets, and when the unconventional Pippa boldly propositions him, seeking science without emotion, she threatens all he works to protect. He is tempted to give Pippa precisely what she wants…but the scoundrel is more than he seems, and it will take every ounce of willpower to resist giving the lady more than she ever imagined.

I confess, I kind of love these two together…they might be my favorite couple yet. Oh…would you like to see them together? And HAWT? Ok…here!

YOWZA, right?! That all said, since I have a big stack of covers and FOUR ARCs, how about a giveaway?

For the cover flats, let’s do it the same way as ever…join my mailing list before next Monday, and I’ll choose 35 readers (at random) to receive signed cover flats by mail! I will never ever spam you…so don’t worry about that…but if you give me your address, I will mail you goodies every now and then!

To win the ARC, please comment below and tell me which of my characters is your favorite so far, and why?  I’ll choose one commenter at random on Monday…and you get an advance copy of EARL!

Nancy My favorite character is still Calpurnia. I love seeing her learn how to have fun. And boy does she pick a good guy to show her the way:)

message 2: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I have to go with the first person. Calpurnica is my favorite character so far. I could really empathize with her in the beginning of the book. I loved how she took control of her life!

Thank you!

message 3: by Tays (new)

Tays Hermann Peceguini My favorite character so far is Juliana, she's just so full of life! Really liked how she ruffles Leighton's feathers!

message 4: by Stephanie (last edited Sep 17, 2012 07:39PM) (new)

Stephanie Eckstein I have to go with Callie as well. I love love love that book. I remember it was one of the first historical romances I ever read and it totally made me a fan. I loved how she was unconventional. She was unhappy with her lot in life, so she decided to take the reins. And it was so wonderful to watch her in action. I still think about that fencing scene from time to time ;).

message 5: by Astrid - ☆Vanilla & Spice Books☆ (last edited Sep 17, 2012 07:55PM) (new)

Astrid - ☆Vanilla & Spice Books☆ Tough choice!

Gabriel, he's so wickedly gorgeous and behind all that pomp there is a kind heart and Callie is the right person to see it. She's such a sweet and funny character...right after though I'd go with Penelope. I loved how I could hate Michael and still love him.

But honestly...It's hard to pick just one character, they are all very different though strong.

message 6: by Bridget (new)

Bridget I fell in love with Calpurnica - she was like no heroine I had ever read before. I like that your heroines aren't airheads, that they believe they deserve love and just need to find it. Too many heroines in historical romance don't believe themselves worthy of love. Not yours - that is why I love them all!

message 7: by Tarra (new)

Tarra So many fantastic characters to choose from!! The Season really started my love for historical romance. While reading I just wanted to be in the same room as Alex and her friends. And I loved Blackmoor. Swoon-worthy! Then along came Callie! She is a beautifully drawn character. I love her adventurous spirit and her witty and sharp tongue. Callie and Gabriel are a fantastic couple, a pair that both compliment and challenge.

message 8: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Can I name two? :) I loved Penelope and Bourne. I was on somewhat of a hiatus from reading historical romances - I was getting a bit bored with them. But decided to pick up A Rogue by Any Other Name because I liked your other books so much. I totally fell in love with both of these characters - I loved the tension between them and they embody everything I love about historicals.

message 9: by Cristin (new)

Cristin My favorite characters were Calpurnia and Gabriel. I loved seeing Callie come out of her shell and I absolutely love it when a man cannot deny his attraction to someone, whether it's expected or not. I love that he can see everything that is beautiful in Callie, inside and out, and helps her gain the confidence to see it too. What I love even more is that he doesn't let the expectations and rules of society get in the way of what he truly wants. Callie wasn't the only one breaking the rules... :)

message 10: by Marcela (new)

Marcela Chavez I Love Juliana, she is ahead of her time and in another country. And not afraid of the GREAT DUKE Leighton, even society. She got me at hello. Very real for me.

message 11: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I think my favorite so far has got to be Bourne. Giving up the thing driving him for years that made him. Then trusting someone for the first time to take care of him was very moving. I just loved how once he finally gave himself to it he gave himself with the same dedication that he gave his vengeance.

message 12: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Wicked wicked Gabriel is the best reformed rake hero I've read in a very long time!

message 13: by Maloup (last edited Sep 18, 2012 11:04PM) (new)

Maloup It's a toss between Gabriel and Michael, but I'd have to go with Michael, for the simple fact that he was as tormented as they get! Plus, he never put less than 100% into anything whether it was vengeance or love, his emotions were always raw and sincere; even if he was an ass most of the time.

message 14: by Kasey (new)

Kasey Calpurnia will have to be my favorite. I love all the characters, but Callie was amazing. She was strong, witty, and a little vulnerable. She is the type of character I would aspire to be like. I like that she made her list and I love that she decided to act on it. She was such a well written character and may be my favorite historical romance leading lady yet.

message 15: by Neha (new)

Neha Patel I'd have to go with Philippa or Pippa. When I read A Rogue By Any Other Name, and first met Penelope's sister, Pippa, I immediately felt that there needed to be a book written about her. She is exactly like me: studious, bespectacled, into books, and doesn't like parties! I couldn't be more thrilled that Pippa graces the cover of Sarah MacLean's next novel, and I cannot wait to get my hands on One Good Earl Deserves A Lover!:)

message 16: by Alpestre (new)

Alpestre So difficult to choose! But I have to go with Callie. I laughed until I cried when she decided to sneak into the fencing club and ended up with Gabriel as her partner. Hilarious! And what a story to end up with the man of your first big crush.

Bright Star Review My favorite character us Calpurnia. I love her list of thing she need to do. However, I really want to know what happens between Pippa and Cross. The little teaser at the end of A Rogue By Any Other Name was not enough for me. Are we going to get a chance to read an excerpt?

message 18: by Sara (new)

Sara Definitely Calpurnia. I love the bluestocking/old maid characters the best, maybe because I closely identify myself with that type? I also loved that she was on the plump side. There are not too many romances that have well rounded heroines like that. She also was clearly in control, I love a strong woman.

message 19: by Sophie (new)

Sophie I like Culpurnia, I love how she decided she didn't like how her life was going so she took charge and changed it.

message 20: by Glynda (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:28AM) (new)

Glynda Roy I honestly have to say that I loved all you characters(no-I am not sucking up). I think you are the finest new writer of historical romances in a long while. I should know. I have been reading them for forty some odd years.
PS I love those two together, too.

message 21: by Caz (new)

Caz I'm amazed nobody (so far) has voted for Nicholas St. John. I adore his relationship with Isabel in Ten Ways which is probably my favourite of that series. Isabel is courageous in her establishment of Minverva House, and I love the way she comes to him in the end. So can I have two favourites? Nicholas and Isabel?

message 22: by ☕ Kimberly (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:47PM) (new)

☕ Kimberly Oh gosh, I have to pick one!!!! Of course I swoon over all of the men in your books, I mean what is not to love they are all handsome and flawed...and of course they need a woman to fix them..LOL So my favorite character would have to be Lady Calpurnia Hartwell. Her list and plans and the way in which she executed them had me giggling with delight. The fact that she wasn't aware of how beautiful she was touched me and her feisty personality made me love her.

message 23: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer I loved Nick and isabel i loved how he tried to make everything right for her and even with her responsibilities he still wanted her to have a life of her own

message 24: by Andrea (new)

Andrea I loved all your characters, but I think my favorite female character has to be Callie. She's strong, she's daring. I loved reading her story. As for a male character, I think I have to say Michael because despite his associations with the Underworld of London, he wants to protect Penelope from it all. My idea of a dark hero!

message 25: by Lynanne (new)

Lynanne I would say Calpurnia is my favorite character. I loved her list and how she wanted to experience life. I also loved How when I read this book it helped me find another wonderful author.

message 26: by Serena (new)

Serena Holland I think that Philippa is my favorite character because I love smart, witty main characters and the excerpt left me wanting to read more. I think that being smart is cool, and things get really interesting when the banter between the main characters includes wit. Can't wait to read One Good Earl.

message 27: by Katie (new)

Katie My favorite character has to be Juliana. I love how she was the only person to put Leighton in his place. I love how he tried to stay away from her and couldn't. And I love that he accepted his sister's child, banished his mother, and learned to live without worrying about what society thought of him. I've just gotten started on your books Sarah, and I'm hooked! You, Lisa Kleypas and Gaelen Foley are the best historical romance writters ever!

message 28: by Mariella (new)

Mariella My favorite character is Calpurnia, she's stron and smart. I loved the list she makes, challenging with it, and that she didn't give up even when there were obstacles everywhere. I also like, that in beginnning she is not aware of how beautiful she is and her worth, and that Gabriel helps her realize that

message 29: by Lanalas (new)

Lanalas My favorite is Temple. There's just something dangerous and imposing about him. I want to know more about him!
