Can we please balance cuts and taxes?

The problem with Paul Ryan’s (and now Mitt Romney’s) budget is that it’s all cuts and no taxes. Barack Obama’s budget seems to be a work in progress, but, from what I’ve heard, it’s more of a balance between cuts and taxes. Why is this a good thing?
