John Cooker This sounds like a fascinating book about one of the most inscrutable of those mysterious Russians. Putin appears autocratic, and KGB cruel, yet he has a Russian soul somewhere underneath his public persona, one that not only drives his ambition but appeals to Russian voters and wins their sympathy. Writing a historical fiction novel about a still powerful figure is quite an achievement, especially for a first novel! I look forward to reading it.

Coincidentally, I'm reading a book of essays about Russia and it's people by the brilliant Tatayana Tolstaya - highly recommend.
Congrats!
John

John, thank you so much. Your words have made me so happy. I really appreciate your support, and I'm impressed by your knowledge of Putin and Russian politics--he does have a certain charisma, which the West does not understand...however, you do! And I will def. look up your recommendation of the book of essays, thank you.

I looked up "Cure for Democracry." Sounds like a hilarious concept. Is it available on the Nook? I tried to read an excerpt, but the link didn't work for me? Congratulations on tackling tough politics in America. I applaud you!

Best wishes, Jennifer

John Cooker Hi Jennifer,
I went Amazon centric with "Cure Your Democracy" to keep the price down. Currently it's only available electronically on Kindle. But I understand apple products have a Kindle app. Sorry about the nook. Send me an email (john_cooker@aol.com) and I'll send you a pdf copy if you really feel the need to laugh at our sad state of politics.
