Chihuahuas are definitely not ergonomic

Chihuahuas are definitely not ergonomic. I am someone who feels off kilter if I’m sitting and I don’t have an animal in my lap. Whether it’s a dog, a cat or, in my case, when I’m outside, a goat (which is fine except Janie occasionally leaves a hoof print on my thigh), I’m most content when I have a critter in my lap. But this summer while I’m taking advantage of the down time between school years to write, I’ve discovered I can’t slide my keyboard shelf out if Wally, my Chihuahua, is on my lap. Now, I could always push him off my lap, but since he’s already suffering from a Napoleon complex, I don’t want to damage his self-confidence. Instead I push my chair back so there’s room for Wally and my keyboard, and I arch over my lap to type. Needless to say it is a slow and not terribly convenient way to type 70,000 words, and I’ll probably have major back troubles. But at least my little Wally will feel good about himself. I’m just glad Janie is not an inside animal.

Dannya I feel your pain. I have two Chihuahuas. One , Sweet Pea, is about 15 years old, the other, Precious, is almost a year. But they are my babies.

Zona I feel your pain! We have a 22lb Turkish Van cat that likes to cuddle, and a 9lb kitty who believes I am merely here for her sitting. Writing with them can be quite difficult! You are a good momma though :)

Tess Oliver I have to say Wally is my first Chihuahua and I'm totally smitten. I found Wally and his sister on a freeway overpass one foggy morning.
I know a lot of cat breeds but I've never heard of a Turkish Van.I'll have to look it up. 22 pounds is big!

Zona I'm guessing my Tangelo is bigger than your Wally? Turkish Vans are suited for running on ice and swimming. We figured he wasn't your usual rescue cat when he jumped into the shower with us. He loves water. It's nuts. I also have a Ragdoll Maine Coon mix. She falls limp when you pick her up, like those narcoleptic goats! I seem to collect weirdo rescue pets :D
Congratulations on Wally. He's a pretty boy! I can't believe someone would leave them on the side of the road. Just breaks my heart. All our pets are rescues and they're just amazing. <3

Tess Oliver A cat that loves water - that is amazing. I love Maine Coon but have never heard of the ragdoll kind. You really do have unique pets. With the exception of an Irish Wolfhound, my dogs are all rescues too and they are completely spoiled and the highlight of my day.
