Born in Boston on this date in 1945Delinsky has authored 80-plus novels under her own name and the pennames Bonnie Drake and Billie Douglass. Her bookshave sold over 30 million copies worldwide and 20 have made the New YorkTimes bestseller list.
Delinsky earned degrees from TuftsUniversity and Boston College and got into writing “by fluke. My twinswere four when, by chance, I happened on a newspaper article profiling threefemale writers. Intrigued, I spent three months researching, plotting, andwriting my own book – and it sold.”
She writes primarily about emotionalcrises, especially everyday people facing not so everyday challenges. Her most recent books are A Single Rosein 2023 and Tender Loving Care in 2024.
A breast cancer survivor, shealso has written two nonfiction books, including the mega-bestseller Uplift:Secrets of the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer Survivors, with proceedsgoing toward cancer research.
