CW for Lilith: Book of Genesis (#0)

by TJ Dallas
(Coming 2025: Dates TBC)

This dark prequel novelette (word count: 28,000) to the Cardinal Series is not for the faint of heart. It can be read, or skipped entirely. Please heed the following warnings:

True Evil isn’t created by daffodils, sugar lumps, and the dulcet harmonics of an angel. It’s created by virgins and sacrifice. It’s created by thunderstorms, rose thorns, and shards of glass. Blood, sweat, tears, flesh, and bone. Damp earth, lightning, breathless moans lost on the wind, and visceral arousal born from sheer humiliation. The smell of belladonna and pine, the taste of salt and zinc, and the silky texture of snowdrop petals that signal spring. It’s created by the fine line between pleasure and pain. It’s created by the methodic thud of spurs as the silhouette of Death looms on the horizon.

Though after everything, as always, there might be a rainbow.

Content Warnings:

—religious blasphemy (Christianity)

—graphic violence

—masturbation for pain relief during childbirth

—perverted and sleazy behaviour by a man

—dark magick, with aforementioned blood, sweat, and tears

—loss of a newborn (murdered with eyes closed).

There is no non-consensual touching at any time.

Lilith’s trauma takes place with full consent, no matter how bad it seems. This novelette is intended for mature audiences and features betrayal and humiliation, which might make some people uncomfortable (which is sort of the point.)

I promise Lilith will fully recover and become even stronger and more powerful for the experiences she goes through in this novelette, which can be immediately followed by Lilith: Original Sin (#0.1—also Coming 2025: date TBC) which is set two and a half thousand years later. Book of Genesis and Original Sin will be released at the same time, so you can read them (or not) in either order you choose.

While the events in this novelette are important to understanding one major character’s creation and backstory (Pride) it is not needed to enjoy the rest of the Cardinal Series, starting with either The Bartender’s Pride, or Lilith: Original Sin. The rest of the series can be enjoyed wholeheartedly without this novelette.

The gist will be conveyed in the rest of the Lilith Prequel series so you don’t miss anything important without having to read the darker elements if you don’t want to. There’s still time to turn back. But if you’re truly ready to know how Lilith of Eden, the Creator of the Seven Deadly Sins, brings her most powerful masterpiece to life, then read on. Once the dark magick is out of the way (how else are you going to create True Evil?) then the fun times can begin.

Further note: As the Lilith Prequel Series progresses, be warned you might continue to be… unsettled with Lilith’s methods of god-like manipulation. Rescuing mortal infants from Death’s clutches is only the beginning. There’s tough love, children seeing things they shouldn’t be seeing, others being rewarded for violence, and another having food withheld for reasons yet to be explained. I promise there’s a reason for it all, but I can’t spoil it by telling you that now, can I?

Love TJ x

PS – Be safe out there.
