Many readers were sure that Tinker would end up with Annie. I even was, until it came to write his book and then he told me a different story. He lost his chance with Annie and was kicking himself.
So he swear off anything serious with a woman and throws himself into being a biker. When he finds himself attracted to another woman and this one has a connection he wants to avoid, Tinker pushes her away repeatedly until Haven decides she won't try again. Then Tinker realizes what he wants and has to work to win her.
