Humans in the Know
Today, I introduce you to three humans helping the unhumans (vampires, werewolves, goblins, and all Peoples not defined as human) defend Las Vegas (and the rest of us) from a very bad witch.
Catherine Carson a.k.a. CC: When you first met CC in Midnight Loyalties, she was just another soldier in the fight against unhumans. She didn’t include werewolves on her list of unhumans. A fact she kept secret from the group. By the time she flies to Vegas for a free weekend of fun, she’s on the side of the good guys, no matter what form they take. That’s a good thing. Soon after arriving in Vegas, she’s spelled away and needs all the help she can find to get home.
Frank is the most no-nonsense cop you’ll ever meet. He knows the law (letter and spirit): He does what’s necessary to uphold the law. He expects those who aren’t human to obey the law while walking on this Earth. In Midnight Loyalties, he lead the police investigation into a series of murders. When he realized the murders weren’t entirely human, he did his best to protect his colleagues from the truth. Just what he knows, he keeps to himself – until Midnight Wildes.
Marcus first appears in Midnight Loyalties where he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. The family business is failing, and he distrusts the man his mother brings in to help. After all, Marcus is the “man of the house.” He should have been consulted. It’s so frustrating: No one listens to him, especially his little sister, Luna. By the time he arrives in Vegas with Frank, he’s not only older and wiser, there’s something special about him. It’ll take a Goblin to help him realize his full potential.
Peace,
L.K. Latham
P.S. No images this week. All the AIs I try make women far too thin to be real and the men far too bulky to be real.
