“He’s going to kill us!”Janel scrambled over the SUV’s center console as Zach crawled out through hiswindow. Waiting for him to clear the threshold so that she could follow senther thumping heart into overdrive. “Hurry!”

A second bullet fired with a bangand shattered the back passenger window. Fear reverberated down her spine.

Zachreached inside, grabbed her upper arms and pulled her out into the chest-highraging waters. She gripped his broad shoulders as the frigid temperatureassaulted her senses, and the undertow kept her boots from gaining purchase onthe rocks below. The ping of another bullet made her shudder.

Usingthe SUV’s door as a shield, they each took hold of the window frame to keepfrom being swept away. Janel leaned toward the closed back seat window, daringa quick glance at the shooter. He sat on his motorcycle up on the cliff, readyto take aim.

Shepanicked and ducked.

An intense plot filled with secrets, heart-throbbingaction, multi-dimensional characters, and faith that will satisfy fans of thisgenre . . .

When Janel Newman, an art gallery owner,awakens briefly after being chased down by an unknown assailant, she has ahorrendous headache and is confused about why she's in the hospital. Mostshocking, however, is the fact that she has no memory of the past two days.

Zach Walker is a local rancher who is asworn, fully-trained volunteer for the local Mounted Fugitive Retrieval Teamwhich assists law enforcement in patrolling the rough terrain of the area. He'sin pursuit of a fugitive wanted in connection with another crime. While trackingthe suspect on his horse, Copper, Zach sees a friend who attends the same church—JanelNewman.

After Janel is released from thehospital, Zach makes it his mission to protect her from whoever is stalking thislovely young woman. The plot grows in intensity as the story progresses.Eventually secrets involving Janel's twin sister are revealed, but the motiveand who is behind it remains elusive.

This author possesses great skills atcreating unique and heart-stopping action scenes and in saving vitalinformation about characters and clues until just the right moment whileweaving a strong faith thread into the dialogue. This book is completely cleanin language and content.

'Ambushon the Ranch' was one of my favoriteinspirational romantic suspense stories for 2024. I will definitely read moreof this new-to-me author's work in the future.
