Romantic Christianity is not a dreamy state of pure romantic subjectivism. It is above the antithesis between the subjective and the objective.
Nor is it some hazy condition of the soul. It is not passive spiritual daydreaming. Nor a resentment-fueled reaction against everything “wrong” with the world.
If anything, I would classify Romantic Christianity as essentially realistic and sober in discerning and discovering realities.
No, I’ll take that a step further. Romantic Christianity is the realization that reality requires active co-creation.
In this sense, Romantic Christianity is mystical in its approach; however, like all true mystics, a veracious Romantic Christian sees realities and knows how to differentiate them from fantasies.
