The third
Lately, I’ve so often been asked by my imaginary friends why I never promote my first novel, “The Demon Lover: Art and Offences.” When it was published, I knew nothing of the intricate world of advertising, of the whoring horrors of promotion; while at present, I know next to nothing of these terrible twins. Nevertheless, after my first piece was completed, after I’d put down that euphoric final thought, I fancied the general masses would soon discover, through the natural course of events, of its judiciousness, of its sagacity, indeed, that merely putting it out there, as it were, would sooner or later catapult me to stardom or at least to McDonalds. Alas, but I see now, as I look upon my “stats page” that not one person -indeed, you read that correctly- not one, has read my first novel! Not even my mom! Ah, but consider this, fair reader. You could be the first! That’s right. It is conceivable, improbable perhaps, but nevertheless, conceivable that my first full length novel, “The Demon Lover: Art and Offences” is, in fact, the best literary work of fiction ever recorded. Who dares to say otherwise? Prove this a fallacy then. Only, if you’re squeamish about what you read, sensitive as it were, if being bombarded by varying political opinions bothers you in any way shape or form, it probably best to leave this piece undisturbed. For, it is a sleeping bear.
