Review: Mockingjay
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A fine, dark conclusion to The Hunger Games trilogy, full of political intrigue, back-biting, sacrifice and sadness. I won’t summarize the plot, as that’s been done over and over. Suffice it to say that there’s no cop-out, no punches pulled, and you’ll be emotionally wrung out by the time you finish this one.
Once again, my only real complaint is that Katniss is never all that likeable and at times she seems pretty dense and spends way too...

Although I absolutely love this series, I have to agree that I wish Katniss were more likeable and less judgemental. Still, I read this last book several months ago and I still think about it. There aren't many books that I can say that about.

Oh, I agree. Collins did a great job with the overall idea and execution. I can't remember the last time I was so obsessed with a series.I especially like that I can use a modern, popular YA series to talk about literary elements with my students.
